Whereas I am of the opinion that lightning of fireworks and sky lantern is posing air and noise pollution which may have adverse effects and whereas such indiscriminate use of fireworks may lead to undesirable incidents and injuries to the individuals and may cause fire and explosive hazards.

And whereas I am on the opinion that there are sufficient grounds for proceeding under Sectuin 144 of CrPC 1973 to prevent injuries to the punlic and danger to human life during this coming Diwali festival.

Now, therfore in the exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the aforesaid code. I Kulothungan A, IAS, District Magistrate, Lunglei District, Lunglei do hereby order that

"No person shall prosess, store,display, use or sell fire crackers, sky lantern and toy guns(releasing bullets or projectiles) within Lunglei District and there is a total ban on yhe import/sell of the above mentioned items"

This order shall take immediately effect and shall remain inforce for a period of two (2) months from the date of issue unless revoked earlier.

Violation of this order during its validity shall be punishable under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
